Other Chinese METAFONTs
Discarding Poor Man's Chinese, which I do not consider to be a true
Chinese METAFONT, I would like to comment on two software pieces:
- Go Gouan and John Hobby wrote a METAFONT Chinese set of
characters for METAFONT 79. The code is available here. The
problem is that it is not compatible with modern METAFONT.
- Douglas Hofstadter, in the November 1982 issue of
Scientific American, comments briefly on a METAFONT Chinese code
written by David Leake and himself, called Hàn-Zì. Unfortunately,
the project was abandoned.
